Metro Ligero Oeste fomenta los valores del transporte público patrocinando el XXI Concurso de Educación Vial, convocado por el Ayuntamiento de Pozuelo de Alarcón.

Metro Ligero Oeste, with the additional backing of the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium, is the official sponsor of the 21st Road Safety Education Competition organised by the Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council. This initiative is aimed at promoting the core values of public transport (safe, efficient and environment-friendly) with creative work by local students.
Algunas de las cualidades que deben reflejar los concursantes en sus creaciones son: la contribución del transporte público y en especial la del metro ligero a la protección del medio ambiente, así como las ventajas de este nuevo modo de transporte para la comunidad, como son la rapidez en los desplazamientos o la de favorecer la descongestión del tráfico.
Con ese motivo, los alumnos de Pozuelo de Alarcón participan con sus redacciones, dibujos, maquetas y eslóganes, que serán evaluados por un jurado compuesto por los concejales de Educación y Seguridad, el profesorado de los centros educativos y los patrocinadores. Los trabajos seleccionados estarán expuestos en el Ayuntamiento de Pozuelo del 28 de mayo al 13 de junio y la entrega de premios se realizará el 6 de junio.

Some of the qualities that have to be expressed by competitors include the contribution by public transport, particularly light rail, to environmental conservation, and the advantages of light rail for the community (faster journeys, helping traffic decongestion, etc.).
With this aim in mind, Pozuelo de Alarcón students are taking part with essays, paintings, models and slogans which will be judged by a jury made up of the local Education and Safety Councillors, school teachers and the sponsors. The winning work will be on display in the Pozuelo Town Hall from 28 May to 13 June, and the prize-giving ceremony will be held on 6 June.
Metro Ligero Oeste's participation in this competition is one of several initiatives by the company in coordination with Pozuelo City Council to promote safer, more efficient and environment-friendly public transport. Others include the road safety talks given by MLO in collaboration with the Pozuelo de Alarcón Municipal police force at primary and secondary schools in the municipality, where the rules of behaviour on board are also stressed.
